Svend Andreas Horgen’s Summary

Very good understanding of several aspects of ICT, in particular programming (Ajax, PHP, .NET), web design and web development and operating systems. Have created several courses and learning material on these issues. I think security should be an important part of any programming course.

Several years of experience from e-learning through both distance education and classroom teaching in higher education. A broad range of practically minded research on e-learning, especially on how to use ICT in a more pedagogical, creatively way.

Speaker on several seminars and conferences on "pedagogical use of LMS-systems, Web 2.0 and digital tests". I enjoy to share my experiences and learn from others.

Author of the first Norwegian book on PHP programming, 408 pages (Gyldendal Akademisk/TISIP) in 2004.

Central in the development of a tool for using multiple choice tests in education.

Leading and participated in several e-learning projects.

I enjoy writing. I enjoy creating. I enjoy producing. My goal is high quality material, be it for learning, research, personal usage or just for fun. I often put my soul into my projects, and therefore find myself learning new things all the time. I am inspired by the "Web 2.0-way", creating, producing, organizing and sharing using blogs, wikis, podcasts and a handful of useful web services to support my work. Efficiency and quality is important.

If I were to change job sometime, I would like to be able to use my creative skills and my understanding on ICT to produce, develop and learn.

At present, I am working in my home office from Kristiansund, but am employed in Trondheim. Working this way on a distance, with a home office, is a great opportunity and makes me more efficient.
