Suw Charman-Anderson is a geek with a passion for social media. She started her first blog, Chocolate and Vodka, in June 2002, covering a miscellany of topics from writing to films to tennis. Her interest in blogging lead her to start Strange Attractor, a second blog covering social media topics, which she now writes with her husband, journalist Kevin Anderson.
Suw has been a successful social media consultant since May 2004, and now work with businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies across a range of sectors.
A committed digital rights activist, Suw started the Open Rights Group with the help of luminaries such as Cory Doctorow, Danny O'Brien and Louise Ferguson. ORG has now got over 1,000 supporters and has successfully campaigned on a wide range of issues.
Suw's newest project is Ada Lovelace Day, an international day of blogging to draw attention to women excelling in technology. Scheduled for 24th March 2009, it will unite over 1000 people, each singing the praises of a woman in technology that they admire.
