Director of Web and Communication Services at College of William and Mary
Norfolk, Virginia Area
I’ve been a professional communicator for as long as I can remember. I’m the oldest of five children and my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Truitt, threatened to send me to the coat closet for talking; but feared I’d “just talk to the coats.” The talking continued - I studied Spanish and French in college.
I spent 16 years in human resource management and the past 11 in communication and technology. Every job I’ve had has either formally, or informally, required me to inform an audience, deliver a message, or explain a process or service.
I spent my 30s and now most of my 40s working in higher education. I am proud to be a part of IT at the College of William & Mary - I report to the CIO and collaborate daily with the best web team in the world, virtual or otherwise. I direct web communications at the College and recently led the William & Mary web redesign project - http://www.wm.edu/re.web
