  • VP of Litigation Support & Manager of E-Discovery Services

    Function5 Forensics, Inc.

    (Legal Services industry)

    March 2008March 2009 (1 year 1 month)

Computer forensics is the science of investigating where, when, how and by whom a breach was perpetrated—and of restoring lost data whenever possible. Function5 provides comprehensive digital forensic services including: identification, preservation, collection and analysis of electronically stored information (ESI) recovery of deleted files and file fragments from virtually any operating system
or storage device detection of evidence of unauthorized use or transfer of intellectual property, investigation of internal employee matters relating to malfeasance, theft or harassment, and in-court testimony by certified analysts.

E-discovery refers to discovery in civil litigation dealing with information in electronic form. Electronic form is the representation of information as binary numbers. This is different from paper information because of its intangible form, volume, transience, and persistence.

ESI can be stored in every type of electronic media including hard drives, thumb drives, computers, handheld devices, backup tapes, and optical disks and includes e-mails, voice-mails, instant messages, text messages, documents, spreadsheets, databases, file fragments, metadata, digital images, and digital diagrams. Evidence of destruction failure to produce ESI during E-Discovery can lead to costly penalties, sanctions, and potential loss of the lawsuit through declaratory judgment.

Litigation support is any professional assistance non-lawyers provide to lawyers in the litigation process. Whether it is assistance with case management, discovery projects, electronic document reviews, trial preparation or any other litigation support, Function5 will be there to meet all of your needs.

We are a complete litigation support company with years of experience in the legal industry. With Function5, you can trust that your project will be managed by experienced individuals at every level of the process.
