Responsible for providing scientific expertise in supporting business development, marketing and product development in the evaluation and commercialization of tissue-derived implants, resorbable polymer products, drug-coated meshes and anti-adhesion barriers used for soft tissue repair.
• Key role in the assessment and development of platform technologies which fit the strategic needs of the company. Directed and executed the in vitro assessment of tissue-derived and resorbable polymer products. Authored reports summarizing results for due diligence activities.
• Successfully led technology transfer of a hydrogel-based anti-adhesion barrier product to the R&D lab and trained product development members on the process. Developed and transferred key test methods supporting a combination device product to the R&D lab.
• Serve as a technical resource for Marketing, Business Development, R&D and manufacturing divisions to coordinate internal and external activities associated with the in vitro testing of new products ranging from early concept to product launch.
• Responsible for conducting all aspects of R&D including study design, method development, writing experimental protocols, data analysis and authoring reports.
• Initiated and executed expansion of internal core competencies by establishing tissue culture and imaging equipment and capabilities.
