My career started in the agency arena as a staffing representative with Manpower in the Baltimore area and then on to Butler Technology Group where I learned IT staffing. The rest of my 15+ year career has been in-house recruiting for a variety of firms and industries - mostly technical.
The majority of my career I have been a manager and recruiter at the same time and learned early on that if a ROI cannot be shown I need to figure out a way to achieve the company goals with the tools available. This led to a passion around the business side of recruiting instead of just filling reqs.
I believe that a recruiter can provide value to any organization as long as they deliver excellent customer service by listening to the client and when necessary push back; leaving no stone unturned when sourcing candidates but have a methodical approach; look for the most cost effective and efficient recruitment solutions but don't resist the latest or trendy - research them; treat candidates how you want to be treated but don't allow them to control the relationship; lastly, you are as only good as your last hire so don't rely on your past performance but continue to strive for improvement and seek feedback.

I started at TWC as a contract recruiter and was quickly converted to a full-time position as a Senior Recruiter. In October of 2006 promoted to Regional Recruiting Manager with responsibility for three Regional offices around the country. In April of 2007 promoted to Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition where I continued to support the three Regional offices and took on the Buffalo Call Center and Herndon, VA recruitment operations. My most recent promotion occurred in January of 2008 where I moved from the DC area to Austin, TX.
In my current role, the first year was spent streamlining five different processes across Texas into one consistent process with a much improved communication plan between the locations and team members. As a result we were able to implement TWC's onboarding system (OBS) two months ahead of the national rollout. The team was slightly restructured to allow recruiters the ability to support other locations based on volume needs, and to put recruiters closer to some of our high volume clients. The best news is that I did not have any headcount reductions. The focus in 2009 will be on the implementation of TalentScout in TX, TWC’s vendor management system, metrics (tactical and business impact), development of team members and internal clients and moving from reactive recruiting to a more proactive approach.
