I'm the Deputy Head of Student Development at the University of Leicester. My role involves helping students develop their academic and transferable skills. I spend my time teaching, developing resources and seeing students individually in student consultations. I have specific responsibility for undergraduate students from the science disciplines, I'm also involved with anything to do with information literacy and IT skills and am responsible for our website.
I am the co-author of the Study and Communication Skills for the Biosciences, published by OUP (http://xrl.in/3k5g)
Prior to joining the University in 2005 I had various learning and development roles in the NHS, both local and national. Before the NHS I spent two years volunteering for a national charity; UCCF. I graduated from the University of Leicester in 1995 with a degree in Biological Sciences.
