My passion is building a team to build things we can be proud of, I've designed organisations, buildings, programmes, software, IT service offerings, and re-engineered processes.
In particular I like to develop services that people use to make their lives more effective and fun whilst delivering real business value and have found the best place to do this in the end user, desktop, collaborative and mobile working area.
I work best working with a strong peer group normally taking the solution lead role on bids, programmes or within accounts although I've also taken service lead roles and programme management lead roles in the past. I love to take the innovator, disruptor and integrator roles as the need demands.
I'm a strong advocate of working strategically with suppliers focussing on adding value to them through our insights and metrics, so that they are motivated to return the favour.
I also try to share what I learn on my blog "Adventures in home working".
I've been challenged recently as a result of a rare form of Arthritis, but that's improving now along with my ability to manage it. Working with the right team, peers and management it's no longer affecting my ability to add value.

My wife Debbie and four young children, Stephie, Jenny, Tessa and Anna, keep me fairly busy, but I also walk daily, swim and cycle. I also read a wide variety of fiction and popular science as well as regular visits to the beach, cinema, country side and museums.
