Stephen S. Ogle graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law with honors in 1992. He received his bachelor of arts degree in political science with high honors from the University of Tennessee in 1989. Mr. Ogle is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
Mr. Ogle practiced law in Maryville, Tennessee, with the law firm Crawford, Crawford and Newton, from 1993 to 2002, when he moved to Nashville, where he practiced from 2002 to 2007. In Nashville he engaged in private practice, and in 2003 he was Assistant General Counsel to the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, where he served in the Central Legal Office. Mr. Ogle was the Department’s Ethics Compliance Officer during his service there.
In 2007 Mr. Ogle returned to Maryville and resumed private practice in East Tennessee. In 2008 Mr. Ogle was appointed Assistant District Attorney General for the Fifth Judicial District, where he prosecuted criminal offenders in Circuit Court and General Sessions Court. In 2009 Mr. Ogle was appointed Clerk and Master for the Fifth Judicial District, serving the Chancery, Circuit and General Sessions Courts of Blount County.
Mr. Ogle is former president and current officer of the Blount County Bar Association and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. He is a former chapter chair of the Blount County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
