Steven Segaert’s Summary

Working on several administrative reform projects has gained me a keen insight in the different strategic choices in public administration and in the private sector. In my work, I aim to help develop policy and to help convert these policy choices in implementable solutions.

My two main fields of interest are:
* e-governance (e-government and e-democracy); the use of ICT to improve government processes and citizen's participation
* national social security schemes and international (EU) social security coordination, including the synergy between social contributions and taxes

I have a legal background, and use my training both to advise on legislation and case-law and to develop policy (including the development of new legislation)

My strong points are analysis and strategic development at a high level and in an international environment. I found over the years that I am good at pinpointing, explaining and solving problems, inspiring enthusiasm in a team and helping to build support for necessary changes. I complement this with what I am told are excellent writing and presentation skills.

I am currently based in Estonia, but often work abroad using the Dutch, English, French and German languages.
