Empowering technical leaders.
(Non-Profit; 1-10 employees; Management Consulting industry)
1999 — Present (10 years )
I partner with Esther Derby, Don Gray, Johanna Rothman, and Jerry Weinberg to host this exceptional annual conference.
I co-founded the conference; my partners and I organize the conference; and I lead experiential workshops during the conference, which is the role I enjoy the most.
Rather than attendees, AYE has participants. You aren't treated like a blob who only knows how to sit in a chair. The conference is structured to maximize your conferring opportunities, which enables both you and the other participants to learn from each other. All sessions are 3-hour experiential workshops with zero PPT rather than the traditional 90 minute PPT conference lectures.
I love this conference. It has the energy of an open space conference but with sufficient structure and facilitation to enrich everyone's learning.

June 2008 — May 2009 (1 year )
(Public Company; 10,001 or more employees; EMC; Information Technology and Services industry)
February 1999 — November 2006 (7 years 10 months)
I led sensitive proof of concept projects that defined and proved the value of EMC products. By making the progress of projects visible, I set expectations for both the customer and EMC management. My work cemented concepts and benefits thus helping sell EMC products and services to Fortune 500 corporations.
(Privately Held; 1001-5000 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)
June 1997 — December 1998 (1 year 7 months)
I specialized in collaboration and value management. My customers included the management team of Boeing's Single Glass Program and Computing Tailored Business Stream Program. My work improved the collaboration and productivity of these management teams, which both increased quality and accelerated the roll out of products.
(Sole Proprietorship; Myself Only; Information Technology and Services industry)
December 1993 — May 1997 (3 years 6 months)
I specialized in system management and performance analysis. Intersect Consulting was my own solo consulting company. I did every aspect of the business—from marketing to delivery. Owning and operating my own business taught me valuable lessons that I'll never forget about the importance of customers. I'm proud to say my customers included Amdahl Corporation, J.C. Penney, Pope & Talbott, Thrifty/PayLess Drug, and Storage Technology Corporation.
(Public Company; 5001-10,000 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)
February 1981 — December 1993 (12 years 11 months)
I was a member of its most influential technical marketing group—Corporate Systems Engineering. I consulted with Amdahl's engineering, marketing, and service organization on system engineering as well as with Amdahl's customers on System/390 technology. I led special projects that helped make Amdahl products more competitive and thus increased product revenues. I received significant recognition and awards, including designation as a key employee.
