After receiving my Bachelor Social Work at the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen I started working as an Adventure therapist at Youth Care Drenthe (currently Yorneo). In my job I worked with teenagers who had social behaviour problems.
In order to follow my dream I decided to stop working at Youth Care Drenthe and start travelling. May 2005 was the starting date of my cycling trip around the world (see http://www.wereldtrappers.nl)
During my travels I've decided to learn a new skill and started making websites. At the moment I'm skilled in PHP, MYSQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. My pleasure in developing websites and solutions brought me to the point of starting TrapperDesign.com my web design studio (see http://www.trapperdesign.com)
Since April 2009 I'm back in the Netherlands and I'd like to work as a freelancer on web designing and developing jobs while working in Youth care as a Social Worker.

In May 2005 I started together with my partner our World Cycling Tour. For four years we travelled mainly in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Oceania by bicycle. Crossing empty desserts, crowded cities, steep mountain ranges and green forests. We cycled through 22 countries in 40.500 kilometres. (See http://www.wereldtrappers.nl)

During my World Bicycle Tour I spent six months working as a kitchen hand in a busy restaurant in Sydney, Australia.
(Hospital & Health Care industry)
March 2006 — July 2006 (5 months)
I worked as a volunteer at a recently opened Children's Home in Nepal. During my period the children who received care grew from 4 to 10. In the Children's Home children from the lowest caste are being helped by providing food, shelter, education and medicine. Most children in the Noble House do have parents, but the parents don't have enough resources to take care of their children. As one of the poorest countries in the world there are many families and people in need of help in Nepal.

September 2002 — April 2005 (2 years 8 months)
When I started working at Yorneo (at that time named Jeugdzorg Drenthe) I worked with juveniles with anti social behaviour. During the years the problematic of the youngsters I worked with became more multi problem like alcohol, drugs, schooling and criminal behaviour. I worked as an Adventure Therapist at the Adventure Therapy section of Jeugdzorg Drenthe.
