Undergraduate thesis: "Traffic Sign Recognition System", an automated vision-based system for detecting and recognizing prohibitory traffic signs in an outdoor environment with uncontrollable conditions (i.e., lighting, contrast, orientation, distance, and occlusion). With a symbol detection rate of 100% and high pattern recognition rates, it aims to minimize road accidents by assisting vehicle drivers and promoting autonomous vehicle driving. The only thesis in the Computer Technology department that obtained the highest possible grade in the final trimester.
