Production Engineer for Yahoo!. I am working in the Ad Systems group, helping to maintain the machines that make Yahoo! money -- approximately $1.5B+ annually. I spend my days working in FreeBSD and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I spend my time hacking at Perl and bash automating processes. I document processes and train team members on current systems. And I am part of a 24x7 pager rotation. I am currently administering clusters of high availability hosts that are spread around the world. Deployments to these clusters is part of my duties. Also, I work closely with the development team to find, debug and fix issues with the code that is being deployed. I work with the traffic management team to plan and maintain the global load-balancing for the graphical advertising group. I managed two direct reports.
