The Demand Forecasting team at Amazon produces point and distribution forecasts by week on a daily basis for over 8 million products in 6 countries. I was involved in all aspects of data collection and analysis, as well as forecast model design, testing, implementation, optimization, and automation. Specific accomplishments include developing a system to correct forecasts for lost demand due to out-of-stocks, improving forecasts for holiday demand spikes, developing a comprehensive end-to-end automated testing environment for forecast simulations, and developing a system for generating forecasts based on user-generated item similarities.
