Steve Baty’s Summary

I solve problems. Mostly for businesses; often for Government departments and not-for-profits. I am a User Experience strategist with over a decade of commercial experience leading the design and development of Web sites and applications. During my career I have worked with major Australian and international brands on the strategy and design of their online presence, including Qantas, Telstra, oneworld, YHA Australia, Harvey World Travel, Panasonic Australia, Maersk Line, youship, NSW Department of Education & Training, Department for the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, FujiXerox, and the Australian Museum.

I serve as a Director on the Board of the IxDA (Interaction Design Association), where I'm responsible for Communications, PR & Marketing. I am an editor and contributor to Johnny Holland magazine (www.johnnyholland.org); and a contributor to UX Matters magazine (www.uxmatters.com).

I hold two Masters degrees (eCommerce and MBA) from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and a Bachelors degree in Science (Mathematics) from UTS. I write articles for the industry publications johnnyholland.org and UXMatters.com on design research and strategy.

My company, Meld Consulting, aims to help companies devise consistent, engaging, and successful experiences across customer interactions. Using design & business research and analysis techniques to inform the design process, Meld brings together user, business & technology perspectives in the design of each solution.

Drawing on a network of UX professionals, Meld retains the flexibility to construct a team of practitioners capable of meeting the needs of each specific project.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Meld is building an international client base for our user experience services.
