Stephanie Grima’s Summary

My name is Stephanie Grima and I am currently a student at MCAST Paola, undertaking my first year in the Higher National Diploma (Software). I am currently in possession of the National Diploma Qualification, which I completed in May 2007.
I am a hard-working, enthusiastic and skilled programmer. I am also a very sociable person and enjoy working within a team, however if necessary, I am quite capable at working on my own.
I am knowledgeable in the use of client/server applications, having developed a Chat Program for my National Diploma Software Project. For this project I made use of Microsoft Access as the database. Since then I have worked on Oracle and MySQL as well. Hence I am capable in making use of ADO.Net and SQL. My Chat Program also made use of networking technologies by serializing data over a network between peers.
In order to further enhance my knowledge base, I also took a course covering ADO.Net technologies. In addition to this, I am currently studying for the MCTS Foundation and Web Certifications.
I consider myself capable in testing both Web Applications and Forms Applications. This is demonstrated in my Chat Program Documentation which I have done for my National Diploma.

Summer was full time, since October I started working as a part-time (working once or twice a week).

Gaining experience programming-wise. Increasing my knowledge further in IT since I am reading and producing things SharePoint related (mostly in Designer, and also did some basic Workflows with Visual Studio)

I decided to stop working there to concentrate on my assignment to get the best grades possible now that I am undertaking my last college year.

C#, PHP, System Analysis, Testing 2005 — 2009

Year: 2007 : Also, I made a website for a ficticious travel agency who had a number of flights. The admin could add up new flights and delete flights. Users who were logged in could make use of a search function and also contact the company. Anonymous users had only one right, that of viewing all the flights.
Year: 2008 : I am currently working on a website for a pet and garden company from Malta. It has the user's view being developed in PHP (which I am learning right now) and the administration will be done in C# .NET. I am hoping that it will be online by February-March 2009.

Activities and Societies:

Years: 2005/2006 : I made an applications which stores lyrics and songs details. This was made by VB.NET. At that moment in time, I only had the basic knowledge of programming in an object oriented way, therefore, no classes were used, and data was solved in a textfile.
Years: 2006/2007 : I have done a large project which took me over 2 months to finish, together with its documentation, which was a Chat Application. Classes and Microsoft Access database where used.
