Stephen Brown’s Summary

A multi sport athlete growing up in Suburban Philadelphia, Steve made his way to Cabrini College in Radnor Pennsylvania on a soccer scholarship. Post college, Brown played for a number of years in the Majors Division of the United Soccer League for the club Danubia.

Steve traded in his soccer shoes and turned his passions to the flexibility of multisport racing in 1987 and has never looked back. Since 1987, Steve has racked up countless triathlons and multisport events of all distances including marathons and ironman triathlons with many top age group finishes.

Steve is an accomplished writer whose work has appeared in many print and web based publications. Steve has also been a featured guest on several radio, TV and internet broadcast programs.

In February of 2006, Steve was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. By July of that same year, he was back to racing triathlons. By September of that year, just 7 months after his diagnosis, he crossed the finish line of his 8th career iron distance triathlon. His diagnosis drew him to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's TEAM in TRAINING program where he signed on as an Assistant Triathlon Coach.

Brown has chronicled his journey through remission and across the finish line and in May, 2007 published the book "My New Race" to tell the story.

Brown has also written a collection of multisport short stories, articles, and interviews, entitled "The Inner Triathlete ... Forever ablaze".

In December of 2008, Brown released his third book; "50 FIT TIPS". "TIPS" contains 50 fun fitness and motivational tips, reminders, and messages designed to help motivate people and get them moving in the right direction towards better health through fitness.

Steve and his wife MG live in Delaware County Pennsylvania with their two daughters where he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County and the USA Triathlon's Mid-Atlantic Regional Board.
