Connecting Bristol grew out of the Government's Digital Challenge, a competition that aimed to identify an exemplar inclusive digital community. Bristol didn't win (Sunderland did) but we did pretty well.
Connecting Bristol's is moving forward as the city council's digital partnership and as a founder member of DC10plus. This is the alliance that has grown up between the national finalists in the Digital Challenge.
Our current priorities include,
· Digital Environment and Green ICT
· Wireless Cities and next generation access
· Digital Switchover
· Ultra Flexible Working (Homeshoring, Slivers of Time)
· e-Democracy and Community Campaigning
· Digital literacy, Skills and Mentoring
· Independant living and Smart Homes Technology
