Author/Seminar Speaker - DignityRocks!
San Francisco Bay Area
Author and Seminar Speaker for LIFESKILLS and character development education in the classroom using the Somebody/Nobody model.
I believe in bringing human rights and dignity issues into the classroom and discussed at home. By opening up dialogs on dignity with our children, we can pass on to them values, character development core qualities, and lifeskills. This book, DignityRocks! is taken from many children across the country and at different grade levels. The students were asked to complete two simple statements,
"I feel like nobody when...
I feel like somebody when..."
The poignant , honest, and thoughtful responses contained in the book are a template, or basis for opening up further discussions on sometimes sensitive subjects, bullying, respect of others, home situations, and other scenarios.
This book is now used in workshops on respect, anti-bullying, lifeskills, character development, and other family/community seminars.
