Deep Democracy, the principle behind process oriented psychology, shows that the outer experiences of our lives are mirrored in our inner experience. Learning to work with the patterns and experiences emerging between these two levels gives people greater access to awareness and fluidity in all aspects of their lives, professional, community, and personal. There is something shamanic about change and about the seemingly mystical forces that shape events and help us to grow as humans. I love working with people and feel a deep appreciation for all aspects of human experience and for every signal.

PhD, Psychology of Conflict, 2008
Research focused on Deep Democracy: a multi-dimensional process-oriented view of facilitation of conflict to help facilitators use their subjective experiences and group disturbances by unfolding patterns that structure group dynamics and individual behavior. These patterns appear in rank issues and signal structures that are critical road maps to understanding difficulties, recognizing and supporting emergent leadership, and helping groups find more sustainable and creative solutions. The psychology of the facilitator and the group are organized by the same forces. Facilitators can improve their ability to understand a difficult group’s dynamics, to facilitate more effectively, and to transform disturbances by discovering the roles that exist within the group, exploring the tensions and feelings that exist between various parts within themselves, and helping the group to understand the roles and address the ghost roles.
