Intern at ABC News Longform Documentary Unit
Greater New York City Area
I worked on the school newspaper at Johnson & Wales University as well as leading the college chapter of Best Buddies, a non-profit organization dedicated to pairing people with intellectual disabilities with college students to cultivate friendships.
I researched and wrote articles for the campus newspaper at Hofstra University until I landed my first "real" job at The Leader newspaper; a local weekly newspaper in Locust Valley, NY.
After a six-month stay there, I found an opportunity for Jewish student journalists to congregate and mingle amongst some professional journalists who are writing for Jewish publications. After presenting my writing samples and resumes, I was able to secure a highly enjoyable internship with New Voices in Manhattan.
After New Voices' office changed its scenary, I was in search of another internship. I applied to ABC News through an internship fair at Hofstra through their school of communications and was contacted weeks later for a telephone interview.
After completing the interview process, which included another telephone interview as well as one in-person interview, I secured an internship with the longform documentary unit at ABC News in New York.
I really enjoy asking questions and getting results.
