Chief Technology Officer. It means I do whatever it takes to protect and enhance the integrity of our online service offering, and to develop and deploy new products effectively and innovatively.
We are an internet-based Application Service Provider (ASP) serving the travel industry (hotel companies, rental car companies, airlines, and travel intermediaries such as Online Travel Agents). Our software helps them set their prices intelligently.
I take a leading role in
* developing a vision and direction for our software,
* designing and writing our software,
* designing our databases,
* testing/installing/operating our software,
* selecting third party software,
* specifying the infrastructure, and
seeing that it all works together in a rapidly advancing set of functionality.
Below is a bio from our website.

April 2000 — December 2002 (2 years 9 months)
OfficeVision.com was a company I started with two partners just as the dot-com bubble burst in April 2000. Our funding fell apart before all of the partners had even quit their previous jobs. I was out there. I had done a good bit of business planning and deal making, but now I had to earn a living this month.
Our new concept for an open business ASP quickly turned into consulting with other companies on building ASP's. Ultimately, I became the VP Technology for one of the firms I consulted with during this period.
• Designed, developed, and delivered in 3-1/2 months (concept-to-revenue): a completely ASP-hosted application.
• Consulted to various clients on ASP issues: technology, development proposals, and security.
• Wrote business plan, proforma financial statements, and private placement memorandum for an ASP.
• Negotiated deals with software vendors to integrate, host, and market their software as part of a Professional Services industry solution.

• Led the batch architecture design, involving the design of a light-weight, memory-based object database for maximum total system throughput.
• Led the application business object modeling using UML (Universal Modeling Language), generating C++ code with the Rational Rose CASE tool.
• Led the database design using ER/Win, implementing on Oracle 8.0.5 with size ranging up to 1.5 Terabytes.
