Previous Modeling Experience
Non-Exclusive Talent2005 – present (9 years)
► More About SOPHIE as a Model
Sophie Tran discovered modeling by chance at age 17, initially pursuing opportunities in fashion, beauty, commercial, and editorial work. Her brief exposure to the runway was introduced through a charity fashion show at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia in 2006 when she led the event as anonymous, masked Opening Model.
At age 18, Sophie turned down a Spokesmodel opportunity with YAMAHA Hawaii to pursue Architecture at Philadelphia University. Although she continued to attract attention from the local fashion and beauty industry, Sophie quietly retired from modeling to pursue higher education.
As "The Urban Muse" in a later collaboration between Sandy Ward Productions and Grammy Award-winning artists The Roots, Sophie was the inspiration for a published art project series that focused on identity and "the changing face of America."
In the last years of design school, Sophie's struggling career and identity took a pleasantly unexpected path. Her studies, talent, and networks ironically led her return to the modeling industry. During that time, she was invited to audition for the Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show in New York in 2011 as part of the opening ballet scene. However, Sophie did not pursue the opportunity in an attempt to shift her talent towards a different industry.
Although Sophie welcomed her revival in modeling, she strictly pursued exclusive opportunities as Convention Model and Spokesmodel to support her career interest in branding. Since then, Sophie has been working directly with local and major clients and agencies in the technology, finance, retail, hospitality, medical, engineering, and other consumer and commercial products industries.
Recently, Sophie won Miss Southeast Asia 2013 for Best Q&A, helping promote cultural awareness during a public event sponsored by a local non-profit and PECO Multicultural Series.
Currently, she invests her talent in the branding and marketing industry.
