Portrait, Commercial and Fine Art Photographer
Greater Seattle Area
I've started to receive some attention for the intimate portraits I create using my own specially developed combination of Polaroid film and camera technique and selective digital processing. Marita Holdaway exhibited 15 of my photographs in March '08 at the Benham Gallery in Seattle, and sold my first fine art print! In December my work will be at James Gilbert's Photospace Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand. My first year as a photographer is off to a good start!
SnapSean LLC, aka Sean Newman Photography is my new commercial venture. Photographically my strengths are portrait and editorial photography.
I am also a licensed attorney (inactive) in California and Nebraska. My expertise in franchise law and business litigation was developed working with Philip Kramer and Tal Grinblat, then at Kramer & Kaslow, in LA, and as a past member of the Franchise Law Committee of the State Bar of Calif. I am presently accepting select legal research projects only from other attorneys. Legal interests include art, mass media, and copyright law.
Currently, I develop and engineer FSTpartner.com for Anita Volkomer's LA based Financial Services Training, Inc. The site is a fully integrated, database driven web platform for the delivery and management of continuing education courses for the financial services industry.
I have an active interest in computer technology and film/television/theatre production. In college I produced my own televisions programs and films, and produced a multimedia program and curriculum funded by a phase III SBIR Grant from the NIAAA. My course work included technical theatre, film/television production and computer science. I am a fan of Apple computers and from time to time have consulted for Greg Scown, Philip Goward, and Jean MacDonald of SmileOnMyMac LLC. Greg has very generously credited me in his hit software product PDFpen, for some early engineering and human interface design prototyping efforts.
Photography: Portrait, Editorial, Fine Art. I also photograph works of art for artists' portfolios; and photograph homes for individual home owners and real estate agents.
