Steven Klass’s Summary

Steven has over 12 years experience in integrated-circuit (IC) design methodologies with an emphasis on analog and mixed-signal design practices. He specializes in architecting IC design flows from identifying gaps in existing methodologies to tool selection, and ultimately flow development and implementation.

Steven joined SMSC as a Design Automation Manager for Corporate Engineering where he brought in a cohesive Mixed Signal top-down design flow methodology for all design teams to use. He was critical in establishing a single physical verification flow for the entire organization to use. Lastly he was responsible for establishing a corporate Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool.

Prior to joining SMSC, Steven worked at National Semiconductor as an Physical Design Engineering Manager for the Displays Product Line. He quickly transitioned into defining the IC design flow for four design centers and, ultimately, provided leading input for product line design flow. Lastly he worked for corporate IS where he was driving remote design center infrastructure where he continued to define tools and methodologies which enable engineering success.

Prior to joining National, Steven worked at two IC startup companies where he defined CAD methodologies and tool flows in additional to managing physical designers.
