Visual Design (Print/Web Design)

I have over 10 years experience working as a writer, designer and art director. And I love it. I love it because I can take a pile of information and/or imagery and make sense out of it, whether that result is a logo, a web site, a poster or all the above. I know my stuff, I'm easy to work with and won't stop until it's just right.
Why design? Great question. I got into design while pursuing an education as a theatre artist (playwright and sound designer, primarily) -- by which I discovered that the creative and logical processes involved in effectively communicating through print and web media parallels the construction of a compelling story (stage or otherwise). In the end, a good story is something that lies just below the surface, providing an elastic foundation that adapts to, and subtly enhances, its contents. Just like compelling visual design and writing. At its best, both forms are visceral and unforgettable.
