Steve Streeting’s Summary

Software developer & project leader with over 15 years experience on a varied selection of software projects.

I currently specialise in 3D multimedia systems, working with customers and partners across the world. I am an active open source advocate and contributor; most of my current work involves utilising open source in commercial ventures, providing positive outcomes for both. As well as general contributions to other projects, I founded the OGRE project (www.ogre3d.org) in 2001, and guided it to a position of leadership in the open source real-time 3D engine field, and remain as project lead. I have been a mentor and organisation lead on the Google Summer of Code open source internship programme for several years.

Although I'm a 3D specialist today, in my career I have worked on mission-critical transaction processing database systems, EAI, mainframe systems, web systems, multimedia projects and lots of things in between. At times I've been an analyst / business liason, a designer, developer, technical lead, mentor and project manager, although I tend to gravitate toward tech lead positions most often.

I also have some experience performing technical reviews on books for APress and Prentice Hall.
