Steve Streeting’s Summary

Over 15 years experience developing complex and varied software in a wide variety of languages, across many different platforms.

I currently specialise in 3D multimedia systems, working with customers and partners across the world. In my career I have worked on mission-critical transaction processing systems, complex integration projects, multimedia projects and lots of things in between. Project roles I have assumed include analyst / business liason, designer, developer, technical lead, mentor and project manager.

I am an active open source advocate and contributor and much of my current work involves aligning open source with commercial ventures, making sure both benefit. I have been the founder and project leader of OGRE (www.ogre3d.org), a leading open source realtime 3D engine, for over 8 years, and have contributed to several other open source projects. I have been a mentor and organisation administrator on the Google Summer of Code (internships in open source organisations) for several years.

I also have some experience performing technical reviews on books for APress and Prentice Hall.
