THE LOBBYiST is an online policy magazine that serves as a source of the most reliable and relevant information on policy and advocacy, and in-depth discussions of hot button issues for decision-makers in the government, private sector, and the diplomatic corps.
It is a platform of governance where both decision-makers and stakeholders meet and exchange ideas. One of our key sections is INSIDE CONGRESS, where hot button issues are discussed and key policy points are crystallized in order to give legislators and decision-makers a clearer perspective in handling policy issues.
Aside from INSIDE CONGRESS, decision-makers will have access to pressing citizen issues and concerns through CITIZEN 2.0, where citizen feedback is facilitated through CITIZEN JOURNALISM, and advocacies of campaigners are highlighted through ADVOCATES’ DESK.
As Managing Editor, I handle the day-to-day management of the magazine, ensuring that the site is updated at least once a day. Further, I developed and wrote policy stories on a wide array of hot-button issues. -

Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) is a national alliance of some 100 non-government organizations, people’s organizations, political blocs, and individuals advocating for people-centered economic development. Founded in 1987, FDC is the oldest coalition advocating for the repeal of the automatic appropriations law on debt servicing.
As Policy Research and Advocacy Staff, I handled the research and policy analysis requirements of the Coalition’s campaign against electric power industry privatization. I helped in designing the Coalition’s proposal to convert the Meralco refund into consumer shares of ownership in 2003, which the government seriously considered. I also helped in developing the Coalition’s proposal on the privatization of the electric power industry that established FDC as a credible source of policy alternatives used by Congressional leaders.
