Enjoying a sequester writing a book for my publisher from 12 years ago.

Document Automation Specialist

– Present (6 years 7 months)

Doqumi is a spin-off from Lailasoft LLC whose products and services make it easy to transition to an XML-based publishing workflow with full automation to perfect PDFs created with the full power of Adobe InDesign.

We also build custom Word to XML conversion solutions to vastly simplify the extraction of legacy content from Microsoft Word documents, even content that was published years ago, turning it into fresh-baked XML or XHTML.

President | CEO

Espressi, Inc

Espressi is the second commercialization project from Lailasoft--a revolutionary portable espresso device. If you want to know more, feel free to send me an email at

Lailasoft LLC
– Present (7 years 10 months)

Lailasoft acts as a private incubator for timely ideas with broad commercial appeal. The company holds investments in publishing-related software technology and consumer products.

CTO & Chairman

Typefi Systems
(5 years 1 month)

Typefi was founded after I became frustrated with the time it took for my books to be formatted by my publisher. I developed a now patented alternative that reduced 3 weeks of work to about 20 minutes. It seemed like a good idea so I started the company with a couple of co-investors. It was initially a kitchen-table operation, but has now transformed the way some of the world's largest publishers take their books to market, and the way the world's most innovative computer company publishes their user guides. I remained CTO to focus on the technology, and moved on after it and the company reached an appropriate level of maturity.

(6 years)

Authored 27 books for QUE, Macmillan and Prentice Hall. I never did count the words, but they took up 3 feet of shelf space. My apologies to the trees.

Freelancer at The Australian

News Corporation
(4 years 5 months)

Focused on information technology with features on computer hacking, digital lifestyle tools, and numerous computer book reviews--one of which resulted in an incensed call from one of the editors at the publisher Prentice Hall which led rather happily to my first book contract. Also wrote special features for The Weekend Australian Magazine, the highest circulation weekend magazine in Australia.
