Web & Business Systems Consultant at AAPT

I work at the boundary of marketing and web tech. I'm highly technical by inclination, but my interest is in using it to improve customer experience and increase sales.
My most recent large project was a complete redesign of our web front-end, both for the sales side and existing customers. I had to manage the launch project and integration, as well as perform much of the testing and tweaking to get it over the line. The hardest part was actually the internal paperwork and processes, engaging with four different change management procedures.
Much of my focus these days is complex web systems integration and JavaScript coding. I've been getting my hands very dirty with JavaScript, specifically jQuery, to smooth things through.
Web production, marketing, content creation and management, web analysis and design, user experience. JavaScript development and backend integration.

Acting as the link between marketing and the technical areas. I gather requirements, design and help implement solutions for the web-based information, ordering and self-service functions. My focus is on optimising the user experience within a very constrained technical and organisational environment, with an inflexible backend.
A major part of this project has been implementing a new design and Drupal CMS, integrating with the existing logged-in self-service system. This involved specifying, planning and managing the development and agency processes, testing and project managing the transition to a new live site, engaging multiple internal and external change management processes to ensure a successful launch.
Result was a successful launch of new brand and CMS, with the purchasing process optimised from 14 steps (on average) to just 4 steps, with resultant improvement in conversion rates.
