Simon Moores is a Vice Chairman of the Conservative Technology Forum and Programme Director and Conference Chair of the international e-crime congress (www.e-crimecongress.org) which examines new solutions and strategies to meet the growing challenge from serious and organised crime, theft and financial fraud over the internet .
Simon is also a regular speaker on the international conference circuit on issues as diverse as information security, electronic government and online crime and chairs the annual IP Risk Congress and the PCI (Payment Card) Europe industry conferences.
Formerly chairman of the Research Group Ltd and a consultant to companies such as Yell.com, Microsoft and other leading technology vendors he has advised on the implementation of international eGovernment programmes (where he developed his 'Kalshnikov Theory of eGovernment') and has represented the British Government’s Office of the e-Envoy as a ‘Technology Ambassador’, at both EU and International Government events and conferences across the world.
A Conservative district councillor for The Isle of Thanet, in Kent, he is Cabinet Member for Customer Services & Business Transformation. Simon is also a leading member of the Information Communication Technology Policy Group advising the Westminster Front Bench team of the Conservative Party and members of the European Parliament.
When not involved in technology or conferences, Simon is frequently found working as a commercial pilot and owns Airads, (www.airads.co.uk) the UK's leading aircraft advertising company which flies banners above major sporting events, shows, private functions and conferences throughout the UK.
