I started my professional career building reporting solutions in MS Access, Excel, PL/SQL and T-SQL for an MVNO though my primary experience has been building and maintaining well structured ASP.NET applications, debugging web controls and pages, as well as working directly in XHTML, CSS and Javascript. Lately, I have returned to data processing with queues and web services in the telecommunications sector.
I am able to criticise and refine a specification by understanding both the user's and the business point of view, and also keeping in mind the operational support of a system. I'm seeking to increase my experience in leadership situations and have been working recently as senior developer in a small team.

July 2007 — Present (1 year 3 months)
Working on system integration within a well-publicised multi-vendor project for Cable and Wireless Access, to provision unbundled local loop Broadband services wholesale partners including Virgin Media.
My initial role was to debug and complete specified enhancements to a messaging system based on Oracle, C# and.NET. With the first phase complete I took on a more senior role providing design input, mentoring and management of junior members of the team, including provision of holiday cover as lead developer.
The project has now reached live/pilot phase and has been so successful that the role of the product has been expanded within the overall system. My role has been to continue to support and enhance the product through each phase of testing, to refactor for maintainability and to introduce non-functional enhancements for operational efficiency, to perform release management and to assist the lead developer with management of the team, mentoring, priority setting, etc.

Responsible for all matters in the area of .NET services and the running of the company itself.
I'm presently getting to grips with my own feelitlive.com project, and enjoying it very much. Feel It Live represents a major new direction both for myself, for Cantorva and anybody interested in having a fab night out in the UK's best cities.

November 2005 — June 2007 (1 year 8 months)
Worked as a developer on four major projects including the buy.co.uk CMS, the front end of a new architecture for displaying switch results on the uSwitch site and partner sites, the site redesign project where I handled the Heating Cover product and contributed to the common components, and I was finally main front end developer during the development of the Car Insurance product. I also contributed to several smaller projects related to sales activities and search engine optimisation.
While coding I'd be driving work items through processes, soliciting feedback, identifying conflicting and inconsistent specifications, and working with people to get compromises that work for IT, for the users and meet stakeholder priorities.

February 2006 — February 2006 (1 month)
This was a short term role working on a systems integration project. Various fixes and enhancements were made including adding suport for custom behaviours to an XML and SQL server driven dynamic interface builder. This involved applying a strategy pattern to code to customise ASP.NET page and control level properties and handle events.

December 2004 — August 2005 (9 months)
Joined the team at the post-live phase of the project which utilised ASP.NET, C#, Web Services, ADO.NET, XSLT and T-SQL Stored Procedures. I performed both maintenance and enhancement of this solution, creating new procedures and reports in SQL and MDX.
I'm most proud of a specialised XML based scripting solution which I designed and developed to provide data handling and transformation services to the web front end. A revised front end is now capable of delivering template based sites and reports to multiple clients from a single code base with extreme flexibility.
