Right now I think I'll just quote my old friend Ozzie Gontang, who offered to write the first recommendation I received here:
“David is a true Renaissance Man living in the 21st century. His work, creative ear, creative eye, and metaphoric mind has continued to create and recreate himself and his art and the art of others for as long as I have known him. A view of his portfolio of sight/site and sound speak for themself. With David the muses continue to work through his soul and manifest in the way he sees the world. There is always something new and fresh in the way David sees what is in front of him."

January 2008 — Present (1 year 7 months)
I am Associate Producer, Technical Advisor and Lead Stills Photographer for David Fresina's "Return to Dwight and Nile: The Story of PSA Flight 182," a documentary film about the 1978 PSA plane crash that killed 144 people in San Diego. I was a newspaper reporter and photographer at the scene on that tragic day. Our crew filmed about 40 hours of interviews with various people who were involved with the disaster, as well as a lot of location shots, during August 31-September 7, 2008, and September 21-28, 2008. The documentary now is in the editing stage, and hopefully will be out by late Summer or early Fall, 2009.

November 1985 — August 2005 (19 years 10 months)
Founder and Director of a social organization devoted to promoting the connections between people who went to any and all local Catholic schools. Edited and produced an SDCSA News e-newsletter in the '90s, then created and became Webmaster of SDCSA.net in January of 1997. Organized an outing that saw 137 SDCSA members, families and friends attend future Hall of Fame member Tony Gwynn's final game with the Padres on October 7, 2001, which also featured Ricky Henderson's 3,000th hit! Organized two more SDCSA Padres events during 2002 season. While probably not gone forever, SDCSA and SDCSA.net haven't been given any attention since August of 2005.
(Telecommunications industry)
July 2000 — June 2003 (3 years)
A 1990s B-movie actress named Rochelle Swanson got my name and number from a friend of my friend Dana Williams, then convinced me to join a Network Marketing System called ACN. I liked the company because it offered a ground floor opportunity to sell natural gas and electricity, as well as long distance calling plans. The gas and electricity sales were eliminated fairly soon after I joined, however, so I eventually lost interest in what therefore will be my final Network Marketing venture.
(Performing Arts industry)
January 2000 — February 2001 (1 year 2 months)
Served as Publicity Director for a new musical called "La Jolla DNA," which was written by Jonathan Michael Licht, Douglas Foxworthy and Gary Hyde. The play had two Showcase Performances on May 3-4, 2000, at the Museum of Contemporary Art's Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla. I photographed auditions and rehearsals, then videotaped the second performance. After the run of the play, I produced archival photos and video content for the show's web site, http://LaJollaDNA.com, which is still available. Proofreader for Showcase Performance program.

Dick Shepp recruited me through an ad to help him create what would be an unfulfilled national publicity campaign and cross-country college speaking tour, aimed at securing amnesty for former Vietnam War draft resisters. Called Prisoners of Peace, the money-raising gimmick was to be an old-fashioned 3" long brass door key that supposedly was designed by Disney animator Ib Iwerks. It featured a dove at the top and the word AMNESTY down the length of it. Shepp never succeeded at bringing all the pieces together, though, so the campaign never got off the ground.
(Automotive industry)
January 1972 — February 1973 (1 year 2 months)
General Distributor for two Network Marketing Systems that began by selling automotive petroleum products, then eventually branched out in other directions. William Penn Patrick, who had run for Governor of California in 1966, created Sta-Power Industries in the late '60s as a more manly complement to his Holiday Magic cosmetics empire. Sta-Power's President, H Kay White, eventually jumped ship around November of '73 and spun off a very similar company of his own called Action Industries. It was an interesting post-college learning experience for a still pretty naive 23-year-old guy.
