JAUH-SHIANG SHELLEY CHEN, Vocalist and Pianist, has performed many concerts mostly in central Texas, in New York City and Asian country as well. Shelley recently received a Teacher recognition awards both in Chinese Education and Music, Also is nominated as an over-sea specially talent of 2008. At 2008 September 18, She committed an invitation by Central Presbyterian Church will perform as solo at Noontime concert. In March and October 2007, As an award winner vocalist, Multicultural Artist Partnership Festivals invited her performed several solo concerts. In 2006, she performed as soloist before the Governor of Texas and Mayor of Austin. In 2005, as guest artist, she performed her concert, “La grandeur,” at Huston-Tillotson University. And in 2004, Miss Chen performed on invitation by the Taiwanese Government the La grandeur concert in the famed National Concert hall in Taipei. While there, she presented this concert in the city of Kaohsiung and in another hall in Taipei. She also sang as a special solo artist with the Taipei Ching-Yunn Chorus. Most of her performances were broadcast live over national television and radio stations and were reported by the University magazine, the San Marcos local newspaper, theTaiwan Hakka magazine, and Taiwan Artists magazine.
Miss Chen received her Masters degree in Music performance from Texas State University in San Marcos. While at the university, she was very active in the University’s Opera and Voice departments. Initially, she was pursuing a music degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After she received a scholarship from the Huston-Tillotson University, she transferred to its music school and graduated with a bachelor of music degree, both in Voice and Piano.
Shelley is a native of Taiwan. She graduated with major in Voice and minor in Piano, also San-Shiuan from Shu-Te high school, where she was named outstanding vocalist and top graduate in the school of music. After music high school she continued music study at Japan MUSASHINO Conservatoire, majoring in voice performance. She received a certificate in Music-Theory from the Royal Schools of Music in London. Also, she received numerous professional vocal competition awards in Taiwan and US.

Shelley is a member of the Austin District Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association, and theTexas Music Teachers Association. She currently teaches at the Austin Chinese School, directing Chinese choirs and giving private music lessons.
