Reader/Assistant Acquisitions Editor at Absolute XPress Publishing
San Francisco Bay Area
I am a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz and a future graduate student at the University of Florida's English program, pursuing my interests in postcolonial and science fiction literatures. I intend to earn an M.A. and a PhD. in English in the near future.
I have worked as a book reviewer with a specialization in works published by small presses and as a judge for the Gaylactic Spectrum Awards, and literary award given to works of speculative fiction of interest or value to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender communities.
Additionally, I intend to publish fiction, specifically science fiction, fantasy, and related categories, of any prose vein. I also have ambitions to work in the non-fiction field examining works of science fiction and fantasy--essay and article work preferably.
Future goals beyond those already mentioned include:
--Freelancing my talents as a blogger and writer where applicable.
--Doing panels and have a presence at conventions related to speculative fiction or the publishing or writing worlds in general.
--Working as an editor for a speculative fiction magazine or novel publisher, online or otherwise.
--Offering my services as a first set of eyes or manuscript analyzer for currently established authors and new authors alike.
I'm also open to any sort of job you might have to offer that might be of interest to me.
Writing (science fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction), blogging, book reviewing, critiquing (novels or short stories in progress--science fiction and fantasy), general knowledge of use to panels, etc. If you have something you think I might be interested in, let me know about it.
