Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit housing organization based on Christian principle. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Like all Habitat for Humanity affiliates, we are raise our funds locally, receiving no financial support from Habitat for Humanity International in Americus, GA. Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit housing organization based on Christian principle. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual, faith community, civic organizations, and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build still more houses.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium specializes and is extremely dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine animals,and the public education about local marine habitats and how they can be affected by human interactions.

WE ARE CURRENTLY RAISING FUNDS for the construction of our new stranding area and are ask for your help at the same time. The new outside Dolphin tank is very close
to completion. The tank was completely sanded down and re-painted and we hope to have the plumbing completed within the next couple of weeks. Once that area is completed we will
focus on completing the Sea Turtle Rehab area.

At present we have raised over $40,000 toward the $125,000 and are focused on trying to get the rest of the funds and completing these areas before the end of the year. These remaining
funds will allow us to have a top notch rehabilitation area and will allow guests public access to the outside Dolphin tank which will house Winter and Panama when not in use with sick
animals. This area will have paver stones on the roof, safety rails and will even include a handicap lift for wheel chairs to access the roof.

It's turtle nesting season - now thru October! Keep an eye open for nests on the beaches and help protect them from human interaction and predators. Only 1 in 1000 hatchlings survive so they need your help! If you spot a turtle or nest, please contact your local authorities.As of September 30th, we have over 9000 Loggerhead hatchlings.
