My official bio reads like this: Sharanya Manivannan was born in India in 1985 and grew up in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. She is working on her first novel, Constellation of Scars. A collection of poems, Witchcraft was published in October 2008 by Bullfighter Books. Iyari, a handmade chapbook of poems and illustrations, was published in 2006.
Her solo show, Ochre As The Earth, held in June 2007, was a pioneering event in the Kuala Lumpur arts scene. As a spoken word artist, she has performed at dozens of events since 2001, notable among them the Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, an 11th century Buddhist stupa that is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Her unique stage presence and voice have been much-remarked on; the poet Kimberly L. Becker wrote that "Sharanya Manivannan's voice has the clarity of a diamond; she has chiseled every facet of her presentation so that what we hear is a rare radiance.".
Sharanya's writing is noted for being brutal, sensual and deeply female. Other than writing, her interests include dance, painting, photography and film.
She has performed and participated in the Utan Kayu International Literary Biennale in Indonesia, Singapore Writers’ Festival and Poetry With Prakriti in India. She lives in India.

I've not bothered to list things like my NGO or theatre experience, because I would like to keep the focus on my writing-related work. However, drop me an email if you're curious, and perhaps I'll tell you more.
