I have been involved with online community and social media for education, youth, and business for the past 10 years. Currently I manage an online community at Work.com for entrepreneurs who share business advice. I write the Work.com Small Business Community Blog. Before Work.com, I worked for the Helen and Charles Schwab Foundation's SparkTop.org, a site for kids with learning disabilities. I also led the online community for K-12 education technology company Classroom Connect and their Quest adventure learning site for 6 years.
In addition, I am experienced in product and project management, web writing, front-end web development, user experience/UI design, and usability testing.
I was a Geekcorps volunteer in Accra, Ghana, West Africa, in 2001, where I trained Ghanaians in creation of dynamic websites and worked on USAID's EDDI project to encourage democracy and transparency in Ghana through information technology. I also lived and worked in East and Southeast Asia for more than two years, and speak some basic Mandarin and Indonesian.
I have live Tweeted conferences such as the Online Community Business Forum, Online Community Unconference, Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco and am heading amplification for BarCamp Africa. I am open to inquiries about amplifying and broadcasting conferences.
