Shannon has an extensive background in active and luxury international travel and tourism, having spent several years successfully developing and implementing marketing, sales, public relations and branding strategies for tour operators, resorts and boutique hotels.
Her tourism career began while she was attending the University of Wyoming, working her way through school as a wrangler and fly fishing guide at guest ranches in the summers and a ski instructor in the winters. She transferred to Purdue University and graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management. It didn’t take her long to return to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, taking a position as the travel manager with a fly fishing company, followed by a position with an equestrian tour operator.
In 2001 Shannon was recruited by a ski and adventure travel company. During that period of time she established relationships with Virtuoso, Signature Travel and American Express Agencies, as well as specialty groups. She currently wears two hats - as an account executive with Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications, a public relations firm specializing in tourism, with clientele ranging from luxury boutique properties to large all-inclusive resorts, as well as acting as the Sales Director for Machaca Hill Rainforest Canopy Lodge, Southern Belize's premier luxury safari lodge.
Shannon uses an innovative and strategic approach to partnerships, sales, advertising and marketing skills. In addition to a solid reputation for excellence in the tourism industry, she has an extensive knowledge of emerging technology and online social networking. Shannon's creativity understanding of various niches will allows her to target specialty markets.
When not working, Shannon can be found traveling, fishing, snow skiing, or hiking. She serves on the board of directors for Cystic Fibrosis Gold Coast, is a PADI Open Water certified scuba diver and a former PSIA certified ski instructor.
