I help people "piece IT together" though it is not uncommon that working with my client, we concentrate on non-technology issues and concerns before moving back to specific technology items.
My interest in Networks of many varieties has led me to start MeshForum, a conference on Networks, MeshForum 2006 was May 7-9 in San Francisco, sessions from both MeshForum 2005 and 2006 are available for free via IT Conversations.
MeshForum covers online social networks, such as LinkedIn, as well as the broader topic of Networks in the modern world - from business logistics networks to power grids to political parties to terrorist networks.
In addition to working on MeshForum 2007, I am writing a book on Economics from a Network perspective, organizing other events, and consulting with a variety of clients. In early 2007 NELA.mobi, an application for social network weaving I co-founded will launch. A second company will likely follow later in 2007.

NELA - for Never Eat Lunch Alone - helps people leverage their contact lists - both personal and business. NELA geocodes your address books - either uploaded or already in the cloud (at Plaxo.com or Salesforce.com for example). Then you tell NELA where you will be, get back who you already know nearby, and NELA helps you invite a group to lunch (or other events).
NELA will launch into private BETA in early spring of 2007. Contact me for your beta invitation.
For private use NELA is free, for corporate use (i.e. connecting NELA to your CRM systems) there are low fees. NELA also incorporates highly targeted (by time, geography and demographics) advertising.
If you are interested in advertising on NELA or in partnering with NELA please feel free to contact me directly. While at launch NELA is restricted to US addresses we anticipate expanding NELA globally.
NELA is a privately held company. My co-founder is David Spector.
