Assistant Editor for the East Group of Sun News, a chain of weekly newspapers that cover the Cleveland area suburbs. Work with reporters, edit photography, layout the Sun Life section and write the occasional movie review. I write several columns including The Pet Set and DVD Screener. Created and initiated the Picture Perfect Pet feature, which has proven to be highly popular with our readers. I also write the occasional movie review. I am working more and more in conjunction with cleveland.com, posting blogs and photography for our community newspapers.

As Editor of Weekend, a free weekly entertainment publication, I would edit copy, design pages and build them in InDesign. I have won many awards, nationally and locally, for my design and illustration work..
Responsibilities:
• Write two regular columns, “Weekend Outlook” and “DVD Screener.”
• Design and build pages in InDesign that have lead to awards in Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards and the SNA Editorial Awards.
• Prep and retouch photos in Adobe Photoshop.
• Create illustrations that have lead to awards in Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards and the SNA Editorial Awards.
• Write movie reviews. My review for "Sin City" garnered buzz on the internet and a story in Editor & Publisher.

I have done various freelance illustration assignments over the years. Two of my biggest opportunities were:
“American Splendor” (1979-present)
Alternative comic book written and published by Harvey Pekar and later made into an award-winning movie in 2003.
“John Darling” (1985-1990)
Comic strip written by Tom Batiuk and syndicated by King Features.
Took over drawing duties from cartoonist Tom Armstrong.
Additional responsibilities:
• Wrote the “TV Trivia Teasers” that appeared in the Sunday edition.

Responsible for artwork and graphics. I designed logos for TV shows and the annual auction, which. I also created large signs for sponsors. I designed and built:ads; program guides for the educational shows; and the cover of the station's monthly program guide. I also won a local Emmy for writing/producing a segment about Superman’s Cleveland roots for the TV show “Dimension.”
