An alumni relations professional since 1989, I have worked at Brown University, the University of Michigan, and now at Caltech. Past roles have included directing programs in alumni education, alumni career services, travel/study, and other lifelong-learning related programs. I have spoken and written extensively within the profession and have chaired or co-chaired a number of professional conferences on topics ranging from alumni education to technology in institutional advancement.
From November 2008 until May 2009 I also served as Acting Assistant VP for Development & Alumni Relations to oversee annual giving & leadership giving programs as well as Development communications and marketing.
I am currently Chair of the Commission on Alumni Relations (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), and also chaired the EDUCAUSE Task Force on Identity Management. I'm a member of the CASE Web Advisory Board and the CASE Board of Trustees. I consult independently as well, on a limited basis.
My blog, Alumni Futures (http://www.alumnifutures.com/), provides an outlet for new directions and ideas for higher ed professionals and has 1,055 subscribers as of June, 2009.
I am currently enrolled part-time in the Master's Degree program at Claremont Graduate University's School of Educational Studies (Focus: Higher Education administration). Expected date of completion: 2010.

Oversight and management of 5 staff in support of the 501(c)3 alumni association of the California Institute of Technology. Provide programs and services to 20,000 alumni worldwide. Work with Institute's fundraising staff to develop and enhance philanthropic contacts for Caltech. Engage students in the Association's activity so they will become active alumni.
