Vistawave LLC was started with my friend Justin Petersen (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/1/216/253) during the first wave of the dot com boom. The web design and hosting arenas were still largely untapped. As high school students we consulted with local business in the St. Croix Valley of Wisconsin to bring them a presence on the web. Our largest client was Bending Branches, formerly a leading provider of hockey sticks to the NHL. We gained valuable experience in small business, web design, and web server administration. After a break for undergraduate studies, I brought the name back to house my consulting practices.

TimelyTrustworthy is a book sales/reselling/buyback business that I started on Amazon.com. I programmed in Perl to interface with Amazon's REST API to forecast prices and automate purchases in the online book market.

Lab manager for an Electroencephalographic (EEG) study in consciousness working under Jon Frederick, Ph.D., assessing subjects' abilities to discriminate changes in power (amplitude) of alpha band brainwaves as dichotomized into high- and low- amplitude states. I had the great opportunity to present our research at the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) at the ISNR annual conference in Atlanta, GA. For purposes of data analysis I wrote Perl programs to extract and make calculations from experiment data housed in text files.
No degree sought , Neuroscience, Biopsychology , 2004 — 2006
I did not seek a degree, but did learn a new way of thinking, gained a greater understanding of the self and humanity, and learned creative ways to approach productivity and technology. I also took up programming again during this period.
