I have extensive experience in the Human Capital arena of more than 9 years, specifically Learning and Development and HR. I am currently National Manager for Learning and Development in Virgin Active South Africa. I am responsible for all learning and development for staff of Virgin Active South Africa. This entails the strategising and management of staff development and talent management for head office, five regional offices and 86 clubs and the growth plans for the business until 2010.
I have worked as a consultant as part the South African branch of a boutique Consultancy in South Africa, other parts of Africa and the United Kingdom. The organisations with whom I have worked include Shell, Chevron (Caltex), 20Twenty (Standard Chartered Bank), ABSA (Barclays), Old Mutual and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). The type of work included overseeing, designing and managing learning and development and change management projects. In addition, I have facilitated the development of Strategic Plans for community based organisations and blue chip companies, such as Amalgamated Beverage Industries (ABI – a subsidiary of SABMiller) and developed performance management systems for organisations such as DivFood (Part of Nampak). My work in Induction and On-boarding for new employees has formed part of my Masters degree, focusing on the development of learning skills and business knowledge to cope with the changing workplace.

While investigating the option of ordination, I was involved as deputy manager of the Holy Trinity Brompton bookshop, the largest independent Christian Bookshop in the UK. Managed a line of international products acquired from sources across the world and then supplied in and around the UK.
