After spending 20 some years as an employee in the information technology industry, I decided to go independent in 2003. Since then, I have been helping government and private sector clients to improve their business performance by securing their valuable information assets and systems.
The Security Views Blog at http://www.securityviews.com hosts my writings, and has grown since 2007 to include over 100 articles related to security for enterprises, government, small businesses and home computer networks.
The Streetwise Security Zone at http://www.streetwise-security-zone.com is my latest trick. It is a growing community of small business managers who are collaborating and learning about information security in this particular type of environment.
The Streetwise Security Zone Podcast is a series of audio programs on information security and risk management for individuals and professionals. You can find it at http://www.streetwise-security-zone.com/podcast.html where you can listen or subscribe via iTunes.
My company is called Security Perspectives Inc., which provides coaching, consulting and multi-media presentations and content for business.
I have more creative business ideas than I have time to act on, but am always open to joining up with people in any industry to create value.

While information security is increasingly dependent on technology, there is a growing gap in realized security because people have not been properly trained or consulted about security in their jobs.
The Streetwise Security Zone is a community where people can learn to educate themselves and their teams about the human side of security, to complement technology and policies.
I help managers who want their team to leverage the value of the Internet, while minimizing the risks to their sensitive information and systems.
Work-flow based risk assessments teach people to analyze their job's information requirements. This allows them to do the little things that help them do their jobs - not only more securely - but more efficiently. After all, getting the job done right is the main goal of security.

Helping organizations leverage their investments in security and technology, I specialize in training, workshops and risk analyses. Technology solutions always involve people, so success often requires a combination of technical analyses and consideration of human impacts.
My combination of IT Security Engineering skills and business skills put me in a unique position for assisting organizations with a mandate for organizational change, to ensure that IT security is instilled into a new culture.
System Security Engineering includes analysis of project objectives, development of security requirements, analysis of all project cycle activities with respect to security requirements, development of Threat and Risk Assessments, coordination of Vulnerability Testing and Analysis of networks. Most of these activities can be done by internal staff, or by outsourced consultants. Either way, I can help get the job done, or prepare your organization to do it themselves.
