Years of stage technician experience and training left me knowledgeable in many areas, especially projection and visual arts. That expertise crossed-over with my web design business nicely, and has helped a lot since losing my job as a stage technician due to my disability, which limits me physically. During these recent lean times, I've found that many businesses with existing web sites want to improve their search engine ranking and internet marketing efforts. My experience as a writer has helped enormously in that regard, as most of internet marketing involves writing about a particular business in many creative ways on blogs, static web sites, social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, and many others.
Writing, clear communication, research including keyword research, internet skills, HTML, CSS, basic understanding of back ends and programming such as PHP, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing, google analytics, XML, site maps, pay per click (PPC) campaigns, and much more.

I started internet marketing almost by accident, back in 1996, when I noticed my organic gardening web site was doing very well on the search engines. I've been helping myself and other small businesses with search engine optimization and internet marketing ever since. I specialize in very small businesses that couldn't otherwise afford the exposure.

I worked in various stagehand departments in television and theater in Los Angeles, including props, grips, carpenters, lighting, and audio. I programmed and operated complex automation equipment for the Los Angeles production of the Lion King. I became the projectionist and assistant audio technician at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, before being diagnosed with a disability that ended my career as a heavy lifter.

August 1997 — August 1998 (1 year 1 month)
I spent on year on Maui Hawaii working for a travel and tourism company that was building a large website about Hawaii. The company eventually went bankrupt (an early precursor to the dot com bust), but the year I spent put my in charge of a staff of 6 who collected information about Hawaii which we then combined with graphic maps to create a web site about all the major hot spots in Hawaii.
