May 2005 — September 2006 (1 year 5 months)
Developed social marketing companies worldwide, developing platform applications for dynamic content delivery and search engine optimization. We were light years ahead in some areas, and while we fought to the top of the mountain it ranged from the good, the bad and the ugly. If I was a dog, this would have been 14 years of experience. Rapidly climbed the social ladder, shipped and marketed planetwide. Decided that Rails was better than PHP (for me and what we do) and experience is worth its' weight in gold.

Traveled internationally building business, working with brokers, agencies and direct client programs for companies to support sales goals.

After we sold XMarkstheSpot I ran sales and marketing at Aptimus, a public direct marketer that was later sold to Apollo. Responsibilities started with managing a large team of 170 people spanning two offices, technology integration, reorganization and driving new revenue centers. Post reorganization I continued in the same role as we built major new deals and landed our largest strategic advertisers and developed new distribution channels for our offers. It was my first experience in a non-CEO role, as an officer of a public company and it was fun.

July 1997 — November 2000 (3 years 5 months)
Launched XMarkstheSpot as a second product that immediately gained big traction in the marketplace. XMarkstheSpot was an ad serving technology for data-acquiring advertisements. The offer serving technology was the first in the marketplace to dynamically and contextually serve CPA ads alongside CPM and CPC (performance and impression driven). The product extended our core technologies and engineering ability to deliver the right piece of information at the right time into the lucrative ad marketplace. Two quarters into scaling revenue we sold the company to Aptimus.

March 1996 — November 1997 (1 year 9 months)
Back in the early days, we built a killer java server and web based system to manage know-how inside big corporations. Insight combined the web with tons of repositories inside companies, and as a little company we managed to sell licenses to Ernst & Young, Hewlett Packard and Intel. I was a wet behind the ears first time CEO in this one, raising capital, working with some really outstanding investors, executives and people.
