Hired as the first "internet employee" to grow JBG's online efforts (post dot-bust) -- a unique entrepreneurial experience within a company founded in 1882. My role/focus changed constantly over 3 years and involved nearly every aspect of growth:
Oversaw/managed the Interactive operations of 35 radio and 11 TV websites as part of Journal's corporate team. Advised/worked with corporate and local properties on product development, revenue solutions, web design and technology, best practices, budgets, staffing, legal, and vendors/partners. We built a passionate and effective team, and a profitable business.
Online growth snapshot: 50+ new websites, added news video to 8 TV websites, created 20 streaming radio stations, podcasts, mobile, UGC, online classifieds, 15 staff positions, and dramatic revenue and audience increases.
