Revenue Performance Management...Why RPM? Why now?
Each year, the various business magazines ceremoniously unveil their “Fastest Growing Companies” lists. The companion profiles typically attribute the catalyst to broad and amorphous differentiators, like “leadership,” “innovation” and “culture.” The truth, however, is far more specific.
Since 1999, Eloqua has studied the revenue performance of a wide range of companies and has identified a small group that consistently out-perform and out-compete their peers. The pattern we see amongst the fastest growing companies is that they understand how sales and marketing drive revenue. They know, often with great precision, how small changes in sales and marketing activities influence revenue outcomes. To manage revenue growth consistently quarter over quarter, these companies have developed disciplines in sales and marketing that:
